SAMUI ATTRACTIONS

Sort by:

All the Top Attractions of Koh Samui are usually of either natural or religious properties. There are many view points and waterfalls, huge boulders, cozy coves, hidden from the prying eyes. There are Buddhist and Chinese temples, pagodas, and even mosques on Koh Samui and besides getting purely aesthetic pleasure of seeing them, visiting such places literally energizes you with peace, kindness and understanding.

Actually, this why we love Samui so much - not for the abundance of entertainment but for its nature and the unique atmosphere of tranquility and relaxation offered by some of the best hotels and resorts in Samui. Compared to other resorts in Thailand, there aren’t too many attractions on Samui especially for the entertainment lovers. Most of them can be visited as part of excursions around the island of Koh Samui - a crocodile and snake farms, monkey show and elephant safari, bungee ride or Jetlev Flyer and ATV riding.

Some of these attractions on Samui intended for entertainment can be visited not only with a guided tour, but also on your own (which is even better - you will have more time to spend with animals and nature). For example, Paradise Park Farm and Aquarium and Tiger Zoo. But do not expect such attractions to be something magical and supernatural. Everything here is very simple, nice and "home-like".

For you to be able to independently explore Samui, visiting all its best parts, there are descriptions of almost all the attractions of Koh Samui, presented in this section and accompanied with detailed descriptions of how to get there and / or Google-coordinate. Some of the places listed in this section are perfect for one thing - a photo-shoot on Samui. You will have some really nice professional photos there, but by and large there is not much to do there.

We recommend that you read the section "Beaches of Koh Samui".

There is also an article about what the weather on Koh Samui is most typical for a particular season.

We publish all the latest news - stay tuned!

Big Buddha is considered the number one attraction of Koh Samui. A statue 12 meter high was built in 1972 and is located in the north of the island, on a small island with a causeway leading to it. The road that is leading to the temple greets you with a temple gate, located beside the ring road. >>

Butterfly Garden on Koh Samui

Only a positive person would say "I do not regret that I went there!". And rightly so we must find something positive in everything. Someone will find a fountain, someone - a waterfall, someone - a flower. And for those bored tourists who are annoyed by the lack of butterflies and can not find them in the garden there is a special shop, where butterflies are found, pinned and attached to the box >>

These are gates with the figures of elephants at both sides. Lat Wanorn Waterfall

Of all the waterfalls on Samui Lat Wanorn is the only waterfall, where water does not exactly fall, as strange as it may sound. For such natural objects there is a name "rapids" - a flat rock with water flowing along its surface. You can get to the waterfall with any form of transport or even on foot. It is located on a relatively flat terrain, so that you will not have to climb up the stairs as it would be with Secret Falls and Namuang. From the ring road to the very Lat Wanorn there is an excellent concrete road, which is actively used by local residents. >>
