Nathon beach is located in the western part of the Samui island. Banks are not suitable for swimming. The water is shallow though the sand is rather soft. The bottom is covered with rocks. Local fishermen use this place for fishing mostly. Water gets deeper closer to the Seatran pier. This is the place where all the ferries from the mainland are moored to.

Prices are usually lower than in Chaweng or Lamai. This is the right place to enjoy the sunset in all its beauty.

Most of the shops are located in the inner part of the district along the one way road. It is closed at 5 pm for all kinds of vehicles so that people can walk freely.

On the same street you will find a big market where you can buy fresh seafood, vegetables and also clothes and other stuff which might come in handy.

In this part of the island you will find a Catholic Church, and most of the public institutions are located here. Immigration office where you can extend your visa is situated nearby.

There are two bus terminals in Nathon. The first one is situated right on the pier, which is the place where all the private transport companies departure from. Second terminal (state-owned) is situated near Immigration office.

On the crossroad to the immigration office if you take turn deeper into the island you will get to Hin Lad Waterfall. Not far from there you will see Buddha's Garden.
