In March 2012, in the center of Maenam we had an opening of a store 9UPThailand.
On the outside it looks like an usual hardware store if it was not for one thing – there are no prices tags. Because the price are all the same - 20 baht!

In contrast to the street markets and shops, where things are sold at 10 baht,

everything in this store is clean and looks nice, the room is air-conditioned ... and many things are obviously more expensive than the declared "yi sip baht"

We were not allowed to take pictures inside.

The approximate range of products can be seen on their website (though it is available only in Thai), but, in my opinion, there is almost everything in there: kitchen utensils, toys, stationery, batteries, photo frames and albums, towels, dishwashing liquid, fabric softener dryer, pots, graters, food containers, and generally anything that can be made from plastic, and not only of plastic.

For example, there are such useful things as Thai brooms (the price is 20 baht)

and pumps for water:

The shop is located just before the traffic lights in the central Maenam (if you go to the east), close to the Kasikorn Bank office, across the street from the Home Mart store. Google coordinates 9.568353,99.99834.

A little later, in April 2012, there was another exactly the same new store opened in Bang Rak, at the crossroads near the market. Coordinates: 9.564777,100.062577

They are most probably being opened all around Samui now. So if u see one please share the coordinates in a review section of the article!
In addition to the above mentioned 9UPThailand stores and open air shops / stalls "all at 10 baht" – there are other shops around that might be useful too.
Those are private shops.
Decent kinds like the one located at the center of Maenam on the very street, which is on Thursdays turns into a walking street (on the photo "Grandpa’s store" - 9.569327,99.996873)

And not so decent (there are dozens of them on Koh Samui)

Those are open-air shops selling everything, from clothes and shoes to buckets grill, pans, fans, etc., etc.:

There are specialty shops, such as pottery shops. They sell vases, plates, decorations and other things useful in everyday life and some other beautiful things made out of ceramics in one of the northern provinces of Thailand.
The store is here 9.534432,100.045065

There are fabrics and accessories shops on Koh Samui.
They are mainly located in Nathon.
For example, if you are coming from Maenam, along the one-way street there are two of them right in front of Nathon market.
At Chaweng: 9.535609,100.048327. The shop sells fabrics and other sewing items (threads, ribbons, etc.).
Also, the fabric can be purchased from the Indians, in the shops such as Armani.
And, of course, there are supermarkets such as Home Mart, Home PRO Tesco Lotus, Big-C and MAKRO.
